Lisbon

Arrived in Lisbon at 2:30AM PCT / 10:30AM Portugal.  Long, tiring, but uneventful flight.  As of this post I have been up for 30 hours, so please ignore any ramblings or grammatical errors.

The line getting through Passport control was substantial.  After a long wait we eased through the process without a question asked.

Next stop was Vodafone in the terminal to get a sim card for cellular access.  Bought 2 30-day 5gig cards for 20e each.

We had quite a time figuring out how to purchase tickets for the Metro from the Airport to downtown as all the instructions were in Portugese.  After a few false starts we managed to get 3 tickets at 1.95e each.  These took us to the 'Rossio' stop in Lisbon.  We walked from there to the 'Ce' Catedral' built in 1148 that marks the start of the Camino.

After  we got our pilgrim Credientials stamped, we walked up to the 'This is Lisbon Hostel' for the night.  It was in the mid 70s and humid.  We waited on the hostel's deck until the 3pm check-in time and then got our bunk assignments.

I am on the top bunk (#4) over a young man whose luggage apparently exploded all over the floor... while he continued to sleep.  Still in his lower bunk as I tried to put my treated sheet on the bunk mattress above him, it was very awkward and I had to give-up after a few attempts.  I will figure it out later when I actually get to try to sleep.

We are back out on the patio after having showered.  Now waiting for dinnertime so we can eat before crashing.  Dinner starts at restaurants around 7pm at the earliest as I understand it.
